Pakistan Ex PM Imran Khan Returns to Jail After Medical Checkup
Doctors have found Pakistan former Prime Minister Imran Khan medically stable after a detailed examination and said he does not need hospital admission at present.

Imran Khan was taken back to Adiala Jail after doctors at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad completed a series of medical examinations and found no immediate need for hospital treatment.
The former Pakistan prime minister was brought to the hospital late on Thursday under tight security. The move followed concerns over his health and an order from the Pakistan Supreme Court directing authorities to arrange a specialist medical examination.
A team of six doctors examined the 73 year old politician. The medical team reportedly checked several concerns, including fluctuations in blood pressure, heart palpitations, headaches and anxiety. Doctors also examined a previous issue involving his right eye.
After the tests, doctors concluded that Imran Khan was in a stable condition. They reportedly advised that he could safely remain in prison instead of being admitted to the hospital for further treatment.
Security was significantly increased around the hospital during his visit. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers, while additional arrangements were made for his movement. Once the medical examination was completed, authorities took him back to Adiala Jail.
The Supreme Court had directed officials to move Imran Khan to a specialist hospital within 48 hours amid growing concerns about his health. Authorities carried out the examination in line with those directions.
Imran Khan has remained in custody since his arrest in August 2023 and is serving sentences linked to multiple cases. His health and continued detention have remained sensitive issues in Pakistan politics.
