Honor Magic 9 Super Edition Launches With 11000mAh Battery

Honor has expanded its Magic 9 lineup with the new Magic 9 Super Edition, a premium smartphone that puts particular emphasis on battery capacity and camera performance. The device combines a large 11000mAh battery with a 200MP main camera and a flagship Snapdragon chipset.

The phone is available in three configurations. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at 4499 yuan, which is around 64300 rupees. The 12GB RAM and 512GB model is also offered, while the top version with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage costs 5499 yuan, roughly 78500 rupees.

At the front, the smartphone has a 6.81 inch flat OLED display. The panel offers a 2788 by 1280 pixel resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It covers the DCI P3 colour gamut and can display up to 1.07 billion colours.

Brightness is another notable part of the display. Honor lists global peak brightness of up to 2000 nits and local peak brightness reaching 10000 nits. The screen also supports 3840Hz high frequency PWM dimming and a minimum brightness of 1 nit.

Powering the Magic 9 Super Edition is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The phone comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17, according to the specifications provided for the device.

The biggest attraction could be the battery. Honor has fitted an 11000mAh battery into the smartphone, along with support for 80W wired fast charging. It also supports 50W wireless charging, giving users two charging options.

The camera system is equally feature packed. The main camera uses a 200MP Samsung S5KHP5 sensor with a 1/1.55 inch sensor size, f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilisation. It is joined by a 50MP telephoto camera using a Sony LYTIA 500 sensor. The telephoto camera supports 3 times optical zoom and OIS.

Completing the rear setup is a 12MP ultra wide camera with autofocus support. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 50MP front camera. Video recording can reach 4K resolution at 120 frames per second under supported shooting modes.

The Magic 9 Super Edition also brings a wide range of connectivity features. These include Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared remote control and dual SIM support. An optical fingerprint sensor is provided for device security, while stereo speakers handle audio.

Durability has received attention as well. The smartphone carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water under specified testing conditions.

The device measures 161.78 by 76.72 by 8.1 millimetres and weighs approximately 227 grams. With its combination of a very large battery, high resolution cameras and flagship processing hardware, the Magic 9 Super Edition is positioned as one of the more feature focused models in the Magic 9 range.
