YouTube Shopping: YouTube Expands Shopping Affiliate Program With Amazon, Meesho and More

YouTube Shopping: YouTube is widening its focus on creator driven shopping in India. The video platform has announced new partnerships with several major e commerce companies as part of its effort to create more earning opportunities for local content creators.

Amazon, Ajio, Meesho, Snapdeal and Tata CLiQ are the latest additions to the program. YouTube already works with platforms including Flipkart, Myntra and Nykaa, giving eligible creators access to a broader range of products that can be featured in their content.

Under the Shopping Affiliate Program, creators can tag eligible products in videos, Shorts and live streams. When viewers click on a tagged product and complete a purchase, the creator can receive a commission from the sale.

YouTube introduced the Shopping Affiliate Program in 2024. Since then, product recommendations have become an additional way for creators to connect their content with online shopping while generating revenue from their audiences.

The company has also introduced new AI powered shopping features. One of them, called Ask YouTube for Shopping, allows viewers to ask questions about products while watching videos. Questions can be submitted through text or voice, helping viewers get product related information without leaving the viewing experience.

Another AI based feature is designed for viewers watching content from different countries. Product tags can automatically adjust to local currencies and display relevant deals, making shopping information more useful for international audiences.

Gunjan Soni, Managing Director of YouTube India, said the expansion is aimed at creating additional income opportunities for local creators. According to the company, partnerships with more shopping platforms can help creators generate greater value from the products they recommend.
