Vivo T5 5G may feature a 3D curved display.
The smartphone is expected to offer GenAI features.
Vivo T5 5G could target the premium mid range segment.
Vivo appears to be expanding its T5 smartphone family in India with the upcoming T5 5G. The company has already introduced models including the T5 Lite 5G, T5x 5G and T5 Pro 5G, and the new handset is expected to sit between these offerings.
The display is likely to be one of the main talking points. Vivo is promoting the T5 5G as a slim smartphone with a 3D curved screen. A dedicated landing page for the device has appeared on Flipkart, suggesting that an India launch is getting closer.
The phone is also expected to focus heavily on artificial intelligence. Vivo has indicated that the T5 5G will feature a GenAI ready NPU, which could improve on device AI processing. The smartphone is expected to run Vivo’s OriginOS software as well.
Based on the positioning revealed so far, the Vivo T5 5G could fall within the Rs 34,999 to Rs 49,999 segment. The company is also highlighting its slim design, although the exact thickness and complete specifications have not yet been confirmed.
The new model arrives as Vivo continues to build its T5 lineup. The recently introduced T5 Lite 5G, for example, comes with a 6.74 inch HD Plus LCD display, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1200 nits.
The T5 Lite 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and runs OriginOS 6.0 based on Android 16. It also includes AI features such as AI Creation and AI Caption. Its camera setup consists of a 50 megapixel primary sensor paired with a secondary camera, while a 5 megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls.
Battery life is another area where the T5 series is focusing attention. The T5 Lite 5G packs a 6500mAh battery with support for 44W FlashCharge, along with a side mounted fingerprint sensor and USB Type C connectivity.
Vivo is also reportedly preparing the Y31T 5G for India. The device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a 6.75 inch HD Plus 120Hz display and a 7200mAh battery. It is also expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.
For the T5 5G, however, the curved display and AI focused hardware remain the biggest attractions. More details should become clear once Vivo officially announces the device and its launch pricing.
