Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G Lamborghini Edition Launched With Sporty Design

Tecno has introduced a special version of its Pova 8 Pro 5G in collaboration with Tonino Lamborghini, bringing a noticeably different design to the smartphone. The Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition is the first smartphone partnership between the two brands and is aimed at buyers looking for a more distinctive device.

The new edition moves away from the regular appearance of the Pova series and uses a black and red inspired design language associated with the Lamborghini brand. Tecno has given the phone a dedicated Tonino Lamborghini Black finish, along with details intended to make the limited edition stand out.

The rear panel features a hexagonal pattern combined with a Pulse Line design. A metallic Tonino Lamborghini logo is also placed on the back, giving the phone a more premium appearance. Another visual change can be seen on the Alive Matrix Display, where the device gets a customised L signature.

The design is clearly one of the biggest attractions of this edition, but Tecno has also kept the specifications competitive. The phone comes with a 6.78 inch HyperLux AMOLED display offering a resolution of 1208 by 2644 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and has a reported peak brightness of up to 4500 nits.

The display has a pixel density of 429ppi and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The combination of a high refresh rate and AMOLED technology is expected to make scrolling, gaming and video viewing smoother.

Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G processor. Tecno is offering up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The phone also supports RAM expansion, allowing the total memory to reach up to 24GB through the additional virtual memory feature.

On the software side, the Lamborghini Edition runs Android 16 with HiOS 16. Tecno has promised two major Android operating system updates along with three years of security updates for the device.

Photography is handled by a dual camera system on the rear. The main camera uses a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 700C sensor with optical image stabilisation. It is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera for wider shots.

For selfies and video calls, the phone carries a 13 megapixel front camera. The camera setup gives the device a mix of everyday photography and wider scene capture capabilities.

Battery capacity is another major feature. The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition comes with a 6500mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. The large battery should appeal to users who spend considerable time gaming, watching videos or using mobile data.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and USB Type C. The smartphone also includes an in display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

Tecno has announced three memory configurations for the limited edition. Buyers will reportedly be able to choose between 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.

The company has not yet revealed the official price or sale date of the Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition. This leaves the pricing as one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the new model.

For comparison, the regular Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G starts at Rs 49,999 in India. The Lamborghini Edition is expected to carry a different price because of its special design and limited edition positioning, although Tecno has not confirmed how much extra buyers will have to pay.

With its distinctive exterior, powerful processor, large battery and high refresh rate AMOLED display, the new edition is positioned as a more exclusive version of the existing Pova 8 Pro 5G. The final price and availability will determine how attractive it becomes for buyers interested in a premium looking special edition smartphone.
