Sony Xperia 10 VIII Launches With 5000mAh Battery and 50MP Camera
Sony has introduced the Xperia 10 VIII with a compact OLED display, 5G connectivity, expandable storage and a large battery aimed at mid range smartphone buyers.

Sony has added the Xperia 10 VIII to its mid range smartphone lineup, bringing a combination of a compact display, 5G hardware and a large capacity battery. The phone is priced at 599 Euros, which is roughly Rs 66,850 based on the stated conversion.
The new smartphone is scheduled to roll out in Europe and the UK from the middle of September. Sony has positioned the device as a balanced option for users who want a smaller phone without giving up features such as an OLED screen, expandable storage and long term software support.
Display and performance
The Xperia 10 VIII features a 6.1 inch Full HD Plus OLED display with a 2340 by 1080 pixel resolution. The panel uses a 19.5 to 9 aspect ratio, supports a 120Hz refresh rate and covers 97 percent of the DCI P3 colour range. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used for added protection.
Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 5G chipset, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. Sony has included 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can further expand the storage with a microSD card, with support for capacities of up to 2TB.
Software and audio features
The Xperia 10 VIII runs Android 15 out of the box. Sony says the phone will receive four operating system upgrades along with six years of security updates, giving it a relatively long software support cycle.
Audio is another area where Sony has packed in several features. The handset supports 360 Reality Audio, 360 Reality Audio Upmix, DSEE Ultimate and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive. It also comes with front firing stereo speakers and stereo recording support.
Camera setup
On the rear, the Xperia 10 VIII carries a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture. It is joined by a 13MP ultra wide angle camera with an f/2.4 aperture and Hybrid OIS and EIS support.
The front camera is an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls. While the rear setup focuses on everyday photography, the inclusion of optical and electronic stabilisation should help with steadier shots and video.
Battery and connectivity
A 5000mAh battery powers the Xperia 10 VIII, with support for 30W fast charging. Sony has also included Xperia Adaptive Charging, Battery Care and Stamina Mode to help manage battery usage.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC and a USB Type C 2.0 port. The phone also carries IP65 and IP68 ratings for resistance against dust and water.
Compact design
The phone measures 153mm in height, 72mm in width and 8.3mm in thickness, while its weight is listed at 168 grams. A side mounted fingerprint sensor handles biometric security.
With its relatively compact body, OLED display, expandable storage and 5000mAh battery, the Xperia 10 VIII takes a different approach from many larger mid range phones. Its European pricing puts it firmly in the mid range segment, while the promised software support could be an important factor for buyers planning to keep the device for several years.
