Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G Goes on Sale With 10000mAh Battery

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G has officially gone on sale in India, bringing a combination of a very large battery, fast charging and a high brightness AMOLED display to the market.

The smartphone is available through Mi.com, Amazon and Xiaomi retail channels. The first sale began on September 23, with the phone offered in two configurations.

The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at Rs 49,999, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs Rs 55,999. Customers using eligible SBI, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IDFC FIRST Bank cards can receive an instant discount of up to Rs 5,000.

With the maximum applicable discount, the effective price of the base model comes down to Rs 44,999. The actual discount depends on the eligibility and terms of the respective bank offer.

The biggest talking point of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is its 10000mAh silicon carbon battery. The battery supports 100W Xiaomi HyperCharge, allowing the large capacity cell to be recharged at a faster rate.

The phone also supports 27W wired reverse charging. This allows the smartphone to provide power to compatible devices when required. Xiaomi says the battery has been designed to maintain its health over a period of up to six years under the companys stated conditions.

The display is another major feature. Redmi has equipped the phone with a 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED panel offering a resolution of 2772 by 1280 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 3500 nits.

The panel also supports 12 bit colour depth, HDR10 Plus and Dolby Vision. These features are intended to improve the viewing experience when watching compatible videos and other high quality content.

For users concerned about prolonged screen exposure, the phone includes TÜV triple eye protection and a hardware level low blue light solution. Wet Touch 2.0 is also included to improve touch response when the display is wet.

Performance comes from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. The octa core processor is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The combination is designed to provide faster application loading and smoother everyday operation.

The smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi says it will provide four years of software updates and six years of security updates for the device.

Photography is handled by a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.5 aperture and optical image stabilisation. An 8MP ultrawide camera is placed alongside it, giving users a wider perspective for landscapes and group photographs.

The main rear camera can record 4K video at 30 frames per second and 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second. On the front, the phone has a 32MP camera that also supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.

Several camera modes are included, such as HDR, portrait, panorama, Ultra HD, Pro mode with presets, dual video and Live Moments. An underwater mode is also planned through an over the air software update.

Durability is another area where the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G has received attention. The phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for display protection and carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.

These ratings provide protection against dust and water under specified testing conditions. Users should still follow the manufacturers guidance regarding exposure to water and other demanding environments.

Connectivity features include 5G, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and an infrared blaster. The handset also uses a USB Type C port for charging and wired connectivity.

HyperOS 3 brings additional Xiaomi AI functions and connected device features to the smartphone. These features are designed to make it easier for users to interact with other compatible devices and access software based functions.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is clearly focused on endurance, with the 10000mAh battery forming the centre of its hardware package. The combination of 100W charging, a 120Hz AMOLED display and a Snapdragon chipset gives the phone a broad set of specifications.
