Oppo Pad 5 Pro India Launch May Be Near After BIS Listing

Oppo appears to be preparing the Pad 5 Pro for an India launch after a device believed to be the upcoming tablet was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards website. The listing carries model number OPD2516 and points towards a possible India debut in the near future.
The BIS appearance was shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, who also suggested that the Indian version could retain specifications similar to the model introduced in China. Oppo has not yet officially announced the India launch date or confirmed the specifications for the local market.
The tablet is expected to focus heavily on display quality. The Chinese version features a 13.2 inch LCD panel with a 3.4K resolution of 3392 by 2400 pixels. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 540Hz touch sampling rate and up to 1000 nits of peak brightness.
Performance could be handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. The Chinese model is available with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, although Oppo could offer different configurations in India.
Battery capacity is another standout feature. The Pad 5 Pro comes with a 13380mAh battery and supports 67W wired fast charging. Such a large battery could make the tablet suitable for extended video streaming, gaming and productivity sessions.
On the camera front, the tablet has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The audio setup includes eight speakers along with a dual microphone system, suggesting that entertainment and video conferencing are important parts of the device’s design.
The Oppo Pad 5 Pro was introduced in China in April, and its specifications indicate that the company is targeting the premium tablet segment. If Oppo keeps the same hardware for India, the device could compete with other high performance Android tablets in the market.
For now, the BIS listing is the strongest indication that Oppo is working towards an India launch. Pricing, availability and the exact configuration for Indian buyers are still awaited.
