Huawei MateBook Pro S Stuns With 798 Gram Weight and Premium Features

Huawei has officially launched its new MateBook Pro S laptop, bringing a strong combination of lightweight design, premium hardware and modern features to the market. The biggest highlight of the new laptop is its weight, with the device measuring just 798 grams. Huawei has positioned it as one of the lightest PCs available, making it particularly appealing to people who travel frequently or prefer a highly portable computer.

The laptop measures only 11.9 mm in thickness, but its lightweight construction does not mean the company has overlooked durability. Huawei has used its Cloud Falcon architecture to maintain the structural strength of the device while keeping the overall weight low. The result is a slim laptop that can be carried easily during daily commutes, business travel and other situations where portability matters.

The MateBook Pro S features a 14.2 inch 3.1K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1600 nits of peak brightness. It also supports the P3 wide colour gamut and blue light protection. These specifications make the display suitable for regular office work, entertainment and other tasks where screen quality is important.

Huawei has also introduced a Privacy Screen Edition of the laptop. The special display is designed to reduce visibility from the sides, making it harder for people nearby to see the information shown on the screen. A dedicated privacy switch allows users to activate or deactivate the privacy mode with a single click, which could be useful for professionals working in public places or during travel.

Performance comes from Huawei’s new Kirin X90 processor. The company claims that the new chip offers around 20 percent better performance compared with the previous generation. The laptop also features Huawei’s Arc Engine, which is designed to improve application launch times, multitasking and overall system responsiveness.

Connectivity has received attention as well. The MateBook Pro S supports WiFi 7 Plus and uses a quad antenna design. Huawei claims that this technology can provide network connectivity over distances of up to 1000 metres under suitable conditions. The laptop is also equipped with six microphones for video calls and online meetings, with the company claiming that they can capture voices from up to 10 metres away.

Battery life is another important part of the package. Huawei says the MateBook Pro S can provide up to 18 hours of video playback. It also supports 66W reverse charging, allowing the laptop to provide power to compatible devices when required.

The laptop is available in multiple memory and storage configurations. The 16GB RAM with 512GB storage model is priced at 7999 yuan, while the 24GB RAM with 512GB storage version costs 8999 yuan. The top 24GB RAM and 1TB storage variant is priced at 10499 yuan. Huawei is also offering PaperMatte Edition, Privacy Screen Edition and Collectors Edition models at different prices.

Sales of the standard MateBook Pro S models are scheduled to begin on August 14, while the Privacy Screen Edition and Collectors Edition will be available from August 28. Buyers can choose from five colours including Midsummer Purple, Dawn Yellow, Smoke Grey, Velvet White and Feather Black.

With its 798 gram weight, slim body, high resolution display, new Kirin processor and long battery life, the MateBook Pro S takes a clear portability focused approach. Instead of simply competing on specifications, Huawei has attempted to combine premium performance with a design that is exceptionally easy to carry, giving the laptop a distinctive position in the premium PC segment.
