Apple May Discontinue These 11 Products After September 9 Event

Apple’s September event is once again expected to bring major changes to its product lineup. The company is scheduled to hold its event on September 9, 2026, and the arrival of new devices could mean the end of sales for several existing products.

A report from 9to5Mac suggests that more than 10 Apple products could be removed from the company’s official lineup following the event. The list reportedly includes several iPhone models along with Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV and HomePod products.

What makes the reported list particularly interesting is that it does not consist entirely of older devices. Some relatively recent premium products, including the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, are also expected to be affected if Apple follows its usual product replacement strategy.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed which products will be discontinued. The final decision should become clearer after the September 9 event, when the company is expected to reveal its next generation hardware lineup.

The September event could be an important moment for Apple for another reason as well. John Ternus became Apple’s new CEO on September 1, 2026. The company is expected to introduce new iPhone models during the event. Reports and speculation have pointed towards the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with the possibility of Apple’s first foldable iPhone.

AirPods could see a similar change. The reported list includes AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC. If Apple introduces updated wireless earbuds, the company may choose to focus its official sales on the newer generation rather than continue offering every previous model.

The home entertainment lineup could also be affected. The third generation Apple TV 4K and first generation HomePod mini are reportedly among the products that could disappear from Apple’s official sales channels. The second generation HomePod is also included in the reported list.

For consumers planning to buy one of these products, waiting until after September 9 could be worth considering. A new product launch can change both availability and pricing for existing models.

A product being discontinued by Apple does not necessarily mean it will immediately disappear from every retailer. Stores can continue selling remaining inventory until their stock runs out. In some cases, retailers may also reduce prices to clear older products.
