Hyderabad Set to Get Another Mega Flyover

To ease growing traffic congestion in the city, GHMC has initiated another major infrastructure project. The government has approved a six-lane flyover in the LB Nagar zone.

Hyderabad is set to witness another major infrastructure upgrade aimed at reducing traffic congestion. The government has granted administrative approval for the construction of a massive six-lane flyover in the LB Nagar zone, promising smoother travel for commuters in the eastern parts of the city.

The proposed flyover will pass through Gayatri Nagar, TKR College, and Mandamallamma Junction. With an estimated cost of around Rs. 416 crore, the project is expected to become a significant addition to the city’s expanding transport network.

Rapid population growth in areas such as Badangpet, Meerpet, and Almasguda has led to increasing traffic pressure over the years. Residents frequently face delays during peak hours, making the need for improved road infrastructure more urgent than ever.

Officials believe the new flyover will considerably reduce travel time for motorists commuting between LB Nagar, Santosh Nagar, and the Old City. Once completed, it is expected to ease traffic bottlenecks and improve connectivity across several densely populated localities.

The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. Since the tender process has already been completed, authorities are preparing to begin land acquisition and utility shifting works in the coming months.

GHMC has been focusing on identifying traffic-prone corridors and developing flyovers in a phased manner. The new six-lane structure is part of that larger strategy to improve urban mobility and provide long-term traffic relief to Hyderabad residents.
