Hyderabad LPG Price Surge: Hyderabad LPG Prices Rise Sharply Amid Fresh Cylinder Rate Hike
Hyderabad LPG Price Surge: Hyderabad residents are facing rising household expenses as domestic LPG cylinder prices climb to Rs 994, making the city the second most expensive market in India.

Hyderabad LPG Price Surge: Households across Hyderabad are feeling the impact of another increase in cooking gas prices, with the cost of a 14.2 kilogram domestic LPG cylinder rising to Rs 994. The latest revision has pushed the city into second place among India’s most expensive markets for domestic gas cylinders.
Compared with several major metropolitan cities, Hyderabad consumers are now paying significantly more. While LPG cylinder prices remain lower in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai, residents of Hyderabad are bearing a higher monthly expense for an essential household requirement.
The recent increase comes after an earlier price revision in March, when domestic LPG rates were already raised. With the latest adjustment, consumers have seen an overall increase of Rs 89 within just three months. For families that depend on one cylinder every month, the annual household budget is expected to rise noticeably.
Patna currently holds the highest domestic LPG cylinder price in the country at Rs 1,031.50, while Hyderabad follows closely behind. The latest figures highlight the growing cost burden on urban households already managing expenses related to education, healthcare and daily necessities.
Industry sources attribute the price revision to fluctuations in global energy markets. Since India imports a large share of its LPG requirements, changes in international fuel prices often have a direct effect on domestic retail rates.
For many families, reducing LPG consumption is not a practical option because cooking gas remains an essential necessity. As prices continue moving upward, concerns are growing over the additional financial pressure on middle class and lower income households.
