Telangana Plans 100000 Capacity Cricket Stadium as TG20 League Gains Momentum
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced plans for a world class cricket stadium while praising the TG20 League for encouraging young talent and expanding sports opportunities across Telangana.

The Telangana government is working towards building a 100000 capacity international cricket stadium in the proposed Future City, with discussions underway involving the BCCI and the Hyderabad Cricket Association. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the project is part of a larger vision to strengthen sports infrastructure and provide world class facilities for future generations.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony for the Hyderabad E Champions, winners of the inaugural TG20 League, the Chief Minister described the tournament as a valuable platform for identifying talented cricketers from rural and urban areas alike. He said the league has quickly earned widespread recognition and is emerging as a significant competition for aspiring players.
Revanth Reddy credited the support received by the tournament for helping it reach a broader audience. He noted that such initiatives create opportunities for young athletes to showcase their abilities while motivating more youngsters to pursue cricket professionally.
The Chief Minister also encouraged emerging cricketers to follow the dedication and discipline shown by legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli. He said consistent hard work, focus, and respect for the sport are the qualities that define lasting success.
Highlighting the government’s sports policy, Revanth Reddy said medal winning athletes are being rewarded with financial incentives and employment opportunities. He pointed to recent appointments and cash rewards given to several accomplished sportspersons as examples of the state’s commitment to supporting excellence.
The government is also moving ahead with plans for a Sports University and the modernization of existing sporting venues. According to the Chief Minister, these projects are aimed at creating better training environments and preparing athletes to compete at national and international levels.
He advised young players not to lose focus after achieving early recognition, stressing that discipline, proper rest, and continuous improvement remain essential for a successful sporting career.
