India Women Trap Shooting: India Wins Silver in Women’s Trap Shooting Team Event at Asian Games

India Women Trap Shooting: India added another medal to its 2026 Asian Games tally after the women’s trap shooting team finished second in the competition.

Neeru Dhanda, Ashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer put together a score of 328 points to take the silver medal. China topped the event with 346 points, while Kuwait finished third with 325.

Dhanda was the standout performer for India. She scored 118 from 125 shots and finished joint first with Qatar’s Reem Basil in the individual qualification round. She also set a new Asian Games qualification record.

Her strong qualification performance earned her a place in the women’s individual trap final, where eight shooters will compete for the medals.

Ahlawat finished 16th with 106 points, while Keer ended the qualification round in 23rd place with 104.

India’s men’s trap team, meanwhile, could not repeat its gold medal performance from the previous Asian Games. Shapath Bharadwaj, Kynan Chenai and Ahvar Rizvi combined for 339 points, leaving the team sixth overall.

Kuwait took the men’s team gold with 355 points. Qatar claimed silver with 349, while Kazakhstan secured bronze with 348.

Bharadwaj did manage to reach the individual final. The 24-year-old shooter from Meerut finished eighth in qualification and then came through a shoot-off for the final places, edging out Mohammed Al Rumeihi to secure his spot.
