Australia Wins Seventh T20 World Cup Title: Australia continued its remarkable dominance in women’s cricket by lifting the Women’s T20 World Cup trophy once again. In the final played at Lord’s Cricket Ground, Australia comfortably defeated England by seven wickets to secure a record seventh T20 World Cup title.
After winning the toss, Australia chose to bowl first and kept England’s batting under control for most of the innings. England finished with 150 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. The team found itself under pressure after losing four wickets for just 70 runs before captain Nat Sciver Brunt played an unbeaten knock of 58 from 53 balls. Freya Kemp supported her brilliantly with an unbeaten 44 from 28 deliveries as the pair added an important 80 run partnership.
Chasing 151, Australia made the target look comfortable thanks to a superb opening effort from Beth Mooney, who scored 64 from 49 balls. Phoebe Litchfield contributed a valuable 48 from 35 balls, and together they stitched a match winning 100 run partnership for the second wicket.
Australia reached the target in just 17.1 overs while losing only three wickets, sealing another memorable world title. With this triumph, the team extended its incredible Women’s T20 World Cup record, having previously won the championship in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2023 before adding a seventh title to its historic collection.
