Tirumala Sees Heavy Rush as TTD Urges Devotees to Plan Their Visit

Tirumala is witnessing a heavy rush of devotees as large numbers of pilgrims arrived during the weekend. With the queues getting longer, TTD Chairman B R Naidu has advised devotees to consider the current situation before planning their visit.

All compartments at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex have been filled, while queues have extended outside towards the Silathoranam area. Devotees without darshan tickets or tokens are currently expected to wait around 18 to 20 hours for Srivari darshan.

B R Naidu said the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is taking steps to ensure that pilgrims do not face unnecessary difficulties despite the heavy crowd. He appealed to devotees to remain patient during the waiting period and cooperate with TTD employees and officials.

The rush has also resulted in a substantial number of devotees using various facilities at the hill shrine. On August 14, a total of 73,699 pilgrims had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Among them, 39,884 devotees offered their hair as part of their pilgrimage. The Srivari Hundi received an income of Rs 4.03 crore on the same day.

The demand for the famous Tirumala laddus also remained high. TTD sold around 4.31 lakh laddus to devotees during the day.

Food arrangements have been maintained alongside the crowd management measures. More than 2.41 lakh devotees were provided Annaprasadam, ensuring that pilgrims waiting for darshan had access to meals.

Drinking water and medical assistance are also being supplied continuously across areas where devotees are waiting. TTD officials said medical services have been kept available to respond to the needs of pilgrims during the rush.

At Aswini Hospital alone, 3,559 people received medical treatment on Friday. The medical facilities are being used to attend to devotees who require assistance while visiting Tirumala.

TTD officials and staff are continuing efforts to regulate the queues and reduce the waiting period as much as possible. However, with the weekend crowd remaining high, devotees have been asked to keep the prevailing rush in mind before beginning their journey.

The TTD chairman also stressed the importance of maintaining patience during darshan and following instructions issued by temple staff. With large crowds expected to continue, officials are focusing on managing movement while ensuring essential services remain available.
