The victim, identified as Gurdeep Singh, was reportedly making a delivery when an unidentified person opened fire. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and New York police are investigating the incident.
Gurdeep belonged to Jabbowal village in Punjab’s Kapurthala district. According to his family, he had travelled to the United States around 13 years ago after borrowing money, hoping to build a better future for his parents and support the family financially.
His father, Pyara Lal, said Gurdeep had faced several difficulties after moving to the US but continued working hard to support his family. He reportedly worked long hours and remained focused on improving the family’s financial situation.
News of his death has left his relatives in shock. Gurdeep is survived by his father and a brother, who are now appealing for assistance to bring his body back to India as soon as possible.
The family has also urged authorities to identify and arrest the person responsible for the shooting. They are seeking a thorough investigation and strict action against those involved.
Police have yet to establish the motive behind the shooting. The investigation is continuing as authorities work to determine what led to the fatal attack.
