NTR Bharosa Pension Applications Open in Andhra Pradesh From September 7

People waiting to apply for a new pension under the NTR Bharosa scheme in Andhra Pradesh can now start the registration process. The state government has begun arrangements to accept fresh applications from September 7.

The application process will be handled through village and ward secretariats. Along with registration, officials will also complete the eKYC process for applicants.

Senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities and single women can apply if they meet the eligibility conditions. The scheme also covers eligible weavers, toddy tappers and fishermen.

Applicants should carry Aadhaar while visiting the secretariat. They will also need to submit either a rice card or an income certificate. Additional documents may be required based on the type of pension being requested.

Widows applying for the benefit will have to provide their husband’s death certificate. Persons seeking a disability pension need to submit a valid Sadarem certificate.

Once the applicant reaches the secretariat, the Digital Assistant will enter the details into the online system. After the registration is completed, a receipt will be given to the applicant.

However, getting the application registered does not mean the pension will be approved immediately. The details submitted by the applicant will first go through a field level verification.

Officials will check the applicant’s information and the documents provided during this process. The pension will be sanctioned only after the authorities confirm that the applicant meets the required eligibility criteria.

The verification is intended to make the selection process more transparent and reduce the possibility of incorrect or ineligible applications being approved. It will also help officials cross check the information provided during registration.

People planning to apply are advised to keep all the necessary documents ready before visiting the secretariat. This can help them complete the registration without having to make repeated visits for missing paperwork.

The opening of fresh applications is expected to benefit eligible people who are currently not receiving a pension under the scheme. The government is using the secretariat network to make the registration process accessible at the local level.

Applicants can therefore approach their nearest village or ward secretariat from September 7 and submit their details. After the application and eKYC are completed, officials will take up the verification process.

The final decision on pension approval will depend on the outcome of that verification. Once the applicant is confirmed as eligible, the new pension can be sanctioned under the NTR Bharosa scheme.
