Nagpur Woman Alleges Sexual Assault and Rs 14 Lakh Fraud by Matrimonial Match

A 31 year old woman in Nagpur has filed a police complaint against a man she met through a matrimonial website, accusing him of sexual assault, financial cheating and mental harassment. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations.

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as a 36 year old man, allegedly developed a relationship with the woman after gaining her trust through the matrimonial platform. The woman claimed that he falsely stated that his wife had passed away and convinced her that he intended to marry her.

The complainant alleged that the man repeatedly engaged in sexual relations with her on the promise of marriage. She later discovered that several of the claims made by him were untrue, leading her to approach the police.

Apart from the allegations of sexual assault, the woman stated that the accused sought financial assistance for a proposed gym business venture. Believing his assurances, she reportedly transferred more than Rs 14.8 lakh to him over a period of time.

The woman further alleged that she was subjected to mental harassment and physical abuse during the course of their relationship. In her complaint, she also claimed that some members of the accused’s family were aware of the situation and may have assisted him.

Police officials said a case has been registered based on the woman’s statement and relevant evidence. Investigators are examining the financial transactions and other aspects of the complaint to determine the full extent of the alleged fraud and abuse.

Authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken following the outcome of the investigation. Further details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses.
