Modi Calls for Self Reliance and National Responsibility in Telangana Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi used his Telangana visit to deliver a message focused on national responsibility, economic self reliance and careful use of resources at a time when global uncertainty continues to affect countries across the world.

Addressing people in Telangana, Modi moved beyond regular political themes and spoke about how international crises, including conflicts in West Asia and the Russia Ukraine war, have increased pressure on fuel supplies, fertiliser costs and foreign exchange spending. He said every citizen has a role in protecting the country’s economic strength during difficult global conditions.

The Prime Minister urged people to reduce unnecessary consumption of imported products and stressed the importance of saving foreign exchange reserves. Referring to rising international crude oil prices, he called for responsible fuel usage and encouraged greater adoption of electric vehicles, railway freight transport and solar powered systems.

Modi also highlighted India’s growing dependence on imported edible oils and appealed to citizens to make small lifestyle changes that could collectively reduce the country’s import burden. He remarked that even a moderate reduction in cooking oil consumption would benefit both public health and the national economy.

Farmers were another major focus of his speech. The Prime Minister expressed concern over excessive use of chemical fertilisers in agriculture and said overuse was damaging soil fertility and increasing import expenses for the country. He encouraged farmers to gradually shift towards natural farming and organic alternatives to protect agricultural land for future generations.

He also spoke about the importance of solar energy in rural areas and suggested wider use of solar pumps instead of diesel based agricultural equipment. According to him, reducing fuel dependence is not only an economic necessity but also an important step toward long term sustainability.

In a message directed especially toward households, Modi appealed for support to locally made products and domestic tourism. He encouraged citizens to explore Indian tourist destinations instead of spending heavily on foreign travel and stressed the need to strengthen the idea of an आत्मनिर्भर Bharat through everyday choices.

The Prime Minister stated that India has managed to shield ordinary citizens from rising global fertiliser and fuel prices through subsidies and government support. However, he warned that continued international instability was placing pressure on national resources, making public participation essential.

During the speech, Modi also spoke about development projects and central support for Telangana while encouraging cooperation between state and central governments for faster growth and infrastructure expansion.

Observers noted that the speech combined economic awareness with public participation, as the Prime Minister attempted to connect global developments with daily life decisions taken by ordinary citizens across the country.
