Baghpat Road Accident: Pickup Vehicle Crash in Uttar Pradesh Leaves 12 Dead

A pickup vehicle carrying 32 passengers crashed into a divider in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday night, killing 12 people and leaving several others seriously injured, police said after the accident.

Baghpat Road Accident: A late night road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district has left 12 people dead and several others seriously injured after a pickup vehicle overturned on the road.

The vehicle was carrying 32 passengers and was travelling from Rajasthan towards Budaun on Sunday night. The journey ended around 12:30 am when the pickup reportedly hit a road divider and overturned.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident. Rescue teams and local authorities helped pull the injured passengers from the damaged vehicle before taking them to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Some of those who survived the crash told police that another vehicle had hit their pickup from behind. The impact is believed to have caused the driver to lose control, after which the vehicle struck the divider and overturned.

The force of the collision left several passengers with serious injuries. Twelve people could not be saved, while the injured were taken to hospitals for further treatment.

Police have begun examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the claim made by the injured passengers about the vehicle that allegedly struck them from behind.

The accident has once again raised concerns over late night travel and road safety, particularly when passenger vehicles are carrying large numbers of people. Authorities are expected to gather more details as the investigation progresses.
