Telangana Student Kits: Telangana Government Unveils Branded Student Kits For Schools And Junior Colleges

Telangana Student Kits: Telangana will provide branded student kits to 27 lakh government school and college students, improving quality standards while creating employment opportunities for women groups and handloom workers.

Telangana Student Kits: In a major boost to government education, the Telangana government has announced the distribution of branded student kits to lakhs of students studying in government schools, residential institutions, and junior colleges across the state. The initiative aims to provide facilities comparable to those available in private and corporate educational institutions.

The government has allocated Rs 687.78 crore for the ambitious program, which will benefit nearly 27 lakh students. For the first time, students enrolled in government junior colleges will also receive free kits that include college bags, belts, ties, black shoes, and socks.

As part of the initiative, students will receive two sets of uniforms along with school bags, shoes, socks, and several other essential items. Residential school students will be provided with additional materials such as bedding supplies, trunk boxes, PT uniforms, night dresses, and other necessities. Minority residential institution students will also receive tracksuits and nightwear for the first time.

To ensure high quality and uniformity in distribution, the government has adopted a centralized procurement system. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to maintain strict quality standards for every item included in the kits. Authorities believe the move will improve the overall learning environment for students studying in government institutions.

The program is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities. The responsibility for stitching uniforms has been assigned to women self help groups across the state. These groups have the capacity to produce between seventy five thousand and one lakh uniforms every day, creating substantial income opportunities for thousands of women.

The initiative will further support Telangana’s handloom sector. A significant share of uniform and bedding orders has been awarded to handloom cooperative societies, ensuring work for local weavers. The orders include millions of meters of fabric along with blankets, bedsheets, and carpets required for residential institutions.

New uniform colors have also been introduced for the academic year. Day scholars will receive light blue and dark blue uniforms, while students in residential institutions will wear maroon themed uniforms. Special clothing requirements for girl students will also be included in the distribution.

Officials stated that textbooks and notebooks have already been dispatched to districts and the distribution of kits will begin shortly. The government believes the program will strengthen public education while offering students access to better quality resources and facilities.
