Rain Alert Issued for Telugu States as Telangana May See Showers Until August 28

Rainfall is expected across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the influence of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, with several districts placed on alert.

Rain activity is likely to continue across the Telugu states over the coming days as the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal influences weather conditions in the region.

In Telangana, the Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall from August 21 through August 28. A yellow alert has been issued for several districts, with officials asking residents to remain cautious as weather conditions may change quickly.

Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Vikarabad are among the districts expected to receive rain.

Andhra Pradesh is also likely to experience rainfall in several areas. The State Disaster Management Authority has warned of moderate showers accompanied by lightning at isolated locations around Eluru and Polavaram.

Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari and West Godavari districts may receive light to moderate rainfall. Other coastal districts are expected to see scattered showers during the period.

Officials have advised people in both states to stay alert, particularly during thunderstorms, and follow weather updates before making travel plans.
