Telangana Heatwave Triggers Red Alert as Heatstroke Deaths Rise
Severe heatwave conditions continue across Telangana with rising temperatures and red alerts in several districts while officials warn of dangerous weather over the coming days.

Telangana continues to experience intense heatwave conditions as soaring temperatures and strong hot winds create difficult conditions for people across the state. The situation has become increasingly concerning with reports suggesting a sharp rise in heatstroke related deaths over the past week.
Authorities stated that several districts recorded temperatures between 41 and 46 degrees Celsius, with some regions witnessing even more extreme conditions. Roads in many places have remained nearly empty during afternoon hours as residents avoid stepping out under the scorching sun.
The weather department issued red alerts for districts including Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam due to severe heatwave intensity. Orange alerts were announced for Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Mahabubabad, while a few other districts were placed under yellow alert.
Reports indicate that heatstroke related deaths have continued to increase, with many people reportedly losing their lives in recent days as temperatures remained dangerously high across the region.
Weather officials warned that the next few days could remain challenging as heatwave conditions are expected to continue. Elderly people, pregnant women and children have been advised to avoid going outdoors during peak afternoon hours between late morning and evening.
Meanwhile, meteorologists also indicated that the southwest monsoon arrival has been delayed further. However, weather conditions are gradually becoming favorable and experts expect monsoon activity to strengthen in the coming days, offering hope for relief from the extreme summer heat.
