Telangana Rain Alert: The southwest monsoon has become fully active across Telangana, prompting weather officials to forecast widespread rainfall over the coming five days. Several parts of the state are expected to experience light to moderate showers, while a number of districts could receive heavy rainfall.
According to the weather department, a Yellow Alert has been issued for ten districts due to the possibility of intense rain. Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Nalgonda are likely to witness heavy downpours.
Apart from heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorm activity are also expected in many areas. Districts including Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda could experience thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.
Meteorologists said several northern and eastern districts may see changing weather conditions throughout the day, with intermittent rain and cloudy skies continuing over the next few days. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, especially in areas vulnerable to waterlogging and strong winds.
Hyderabad is also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall in the short term, with a few locations likely to witness brief spells of heavy rain. Weather officials have indicated that rainfall activity may become more intense in the city during June 25, June 26 and June 27.
The latest forecast suggests that monsoon conditions will remain favorable across Telangana, bringing much needed rainfall but also increasing the risk of localized disruptions in districts expected to receive heavier showers.
