Telangana Extends Ration Card eKYC Deadline Until August 31

The Telangana government has provided major relief to ration card beneficiaries by extending the deadline for completing the mandatory eKYC process until August 31. Officials have urged all eligible families who have not yet completed the verification to make use of the additional time and avoid future inconvenience.

Along with the deadline extension, the Civil Supplies Department has announced that beneficiaries will be allowed to collect ration for three months in a single visit. The special distribution will cover the monthly quota for August, September and October, making it easier for families and reducing repeated visits to fair price shops.

According to officials, the extension was granted after considering the disruption caused by heavy rainfall across the state and the ongoing special voter list revision. The government expects the additional time to help more beneficiaries complete the mandatory verification process without difficulty.

Authorities clarified that every member listed on a ration card under the National Food Security Act must complete eKYC. The verification can be done free of cost at any nearby fair price shop under the One Nation One Ration Card system. Beneficiaries do not have to visit the shop where their ration card was originally registered.

The eKYC process takes only a few seconds and is completed using fingerprint authentication or facial recognition. Those facing biometric issues have been advised to immediately contact the local ration dealer or Civil Supplies officials for assistance.

Officials also warned that failure to complete eKYC within the extended deadline could result in interruptions in ration benefits and may affect access to other welfare schemes linked to the ration card. Beneficiaries are therefore encouraged to complete the process at the earliest.

During the special distribution period, each eligible family member will receive 18 kilograms of rice, covering three months at the rate of six kilograms per month. The government has asked all ration card holders to take advantage of both the extended eKYC deadline and the combined ration distribution.
