SIR Enumeration Form Deadline Ends Today in Telangana

The deadline for submitting enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision process in Telangana ends at midnight on Monday. Election officials have urged voters who have received the forms but have not yet submitted them to complete the process without further delay.

Enumeration forms were distributed to around 3.38 crore voters across the state. Officials said details relating to nearly 2.64 crore voters have already been digitised, while a large number of forms are still pending.

Around 69 lakh voters have not yet submitted their enumeration forms. Their records are currently being placed under the uncollectable category for various reasons, including voters not being available at the registered address, migration, death or duplicate registration.

Officials have clarified that being placed in the uncollectable category does not permanently remove a person’s voting rights. Voters who find their names incorrectly placed in the category will have opportunities to provide the required information and seek corrections during the subsequent stages of the revision process.

The election authorities have particularly asked voters who already received enumeration forms to hand them over to their respective Booth Level Officers. Simply receiving or completing a form is not enough if it is not submitted for digitisation.

The upcoming draft voter list will be prepared using the records that have been submitted and digitised. The draft list is scheduled to be published on August 17. Names whose records have not been processed by that stage may not appear in the draft list.

Officials have also said that voters should not panic if they do not have details related to the 2002 revision. They can provide the other information available to them in the enumeration form and submit it to the concerned officer.

If questions arise about a voter’s eligibility or details, the authorities can issue a notice and provide an opportunity to submit approved identity documents. The concerned voter can then appear before the Electoral Registration Officer and provide the necessary clarification.

The revision process will continue even after publication of the draft list. Notices for voters whose records require clarification may be issued between August 17 and October 15. After verification and consideration of the documents submitted, eligible voters can be included in the final electoral roll.

The final voter list is scheduled to be published on October 19. Election officials have therefore advised voters to complete the enumeration form submission process within the current deadline to avoid complications during the revision process.
