Kishan Reddy Challenge: Kishan Reddy Challenges Revanth Reddy to Open Debate on Telangana Development

Kishan Reddy Challenge: Political tensions in Telangana intensified after Union Minister Kishan Reddy launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and challenged him to an open public debate on development projects and governance issues.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy alleged that the state government was attempting to divert public attention from its unfulfilled election promises by targeting him and the Central Government. He claimed that recent remarks made by the Chief Minister were driven by frustration and political insecurity rather than facts.
The Union Minister made it clear that he was prepared for a direct discussion on Telangana’s development and pending infrastructure projects. He said the venue did not matter and that he was ready to participate in a public debate either at the Press Club or near the Martyrs Memorial.
Kishan Reddy also stated that he would immediately resign if anyone could prove that he had obstructed even a single project meant for Telangana. He suggested that a panel of senior journalists should independently examine the allegations and present the facts before the public.

Responding to criticism regarding Metro Phase 2 and the Tummidihatti project, the Union Minister dismissed the accusations and maintained that the Central Government had already given in principle approval for the Metro Phase 2 proposal. He urged the state government to follow official procedures instead of making public allegations.
During the interaction, Kishan Reddy emphasized that his political position was earned through the support of voters from Amberpet and Secunderabad. He asserted that he was accountable to the people, his constituency, and his party rather than to political opponents.
The minister further accused both the previous BRS government and the current Congress administration of weakening Telangana’s financial position through poor management and corruption. According to him, a state that once enjoyed a surplus budget has now been pushed into increasing debt.
His remarks have added a new dimension to the ongoing political confrontation between the BJP and Congress in Telangana. With both sides exchanging strong statements, the demand for a public debate is likely to keep the issue in the political spotlight in the coming days.
