KCR Calls for Progress Inspired by Freedom Struggle
KCR urged Indians to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and strengthen social justice, economic progress, federal values, secular spirit and national unity as India marks Independence Day today together.
Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao urged people to draw inspiration from India’s freedom movement and work towards social justice, economic progress and stronger national unity.
KCR extended his Independence Day greetings to people across Telangana and the country in a statement issued on Friday. He recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the leadership that helped India gain self rule on August 15, 1947.
India is entering its 80th Independence Day after completing 79 years since independence. KCR said the occasion should also be used to reflect on the country’s progress, particularly in social justice and economic development.
He said the freedom struggle succeeded because of the determination of ordinary people, the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the vision of leaders of that period. The spirit behind that movement, he said, should continue to guide the country’s development.
KCR also stressed the importance of protecting the federal principles provided by the Constitution. He called for preserving the country’s secular character and strengthening the feeling of brotherhood among citizens.
Describing India as the world’s largest democracy, KCR said the country still has several goals to achieve. He urged people to recognise those challenges and work towards building a stronger future.
He placed particular emphasis on the role of young people in shaping the country’s next phase. KCR said the younger generation should move forward with knowledge, patience and a clear vision.
According to him, only by carrying forward these values can the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle bring meaningful benefits to every section of society and reach every household.
