Gachibowli Lift Accident Claims Life of Five Year Old Girl
A tragic lift accident at a private women hostel in Gachibowli ended the life of a five year old girl after her hair became trapped in the lift grill during movement
A heartbreaking incident was reported from Hyderabad’s IT corridor Gachibowli, where a five year old girl lost her life in a tragic lift accident at a private women hostel in Gowlidoddi. The victim was identified as Bistu Ghosh, a native of West Bengal.
According to preliminary information, the child entered the lift while playing and attempted to travel from the ground floor to the fifth floor. During the journey, her hair reportedly became stuck in the lift grill. As the lift continued to move, her head was crushed between the grill and the wall, causing severe injuries that led to her death on the spot.
The incident created panic inside the hostel premises. Staff members immediately alerted the police and fire department after noticing the accident. Rescue personnel from the fire services, HYDRAA team and Gachibowli police rushed to the location and carried out a lengthy operation to retrieve the girl’s body from the lift.
After the recovery process, the body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examination. Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
Officials are now examining whether proper safety measures and functioning sensors were installed in the hostel lift. Investigators are also trying to determine how the child managed to access the lift area alone without supervision.
The shocking incident has raised fresh concerns over safety standards in private hostels across Hyderabad. Local residents are demanding strict action against managements that fail to maintain basic safety measures in residential buildings.
