Fatal Laser Accident at Cherlapally Industrial Area Claims CNC Operator’s Life

A horrific industrial accident claimed the life of a CNC machine operator at a fabrication unit in Hyderabad’s Cherlapally Industrial Area, leaving fellow workers in deep shock. The tragic incident has raised serious concerns about workplace safety and the handling of heavy industrial machinery.

The victim, identified as 42 year old Bhaktuni Suresh Babu, had recently joined Sudarshana Industries as a CNC operator after migrating from Srikakulam district in search of employment. He was living in Chakrapuri with his family and had been working at the company for nearly three weeks.

According to preliminary information, a technical fault developed in the CNC machine on Wednesday afternoon. A company mechanic arrived to repair the equipment, and Suresh Babu stood nearby to observe the inspection. During the process, an intense laser beam was reportedly released from the machine, striking his neck and causing fatal injuries. The incident unfolded within moments, leaving workers stunned as they rushed out of the factory in panic.

Police from Kushaiguda reached the spot soon after receiving information and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination. A case has been registered against the management of Sudarshana Industries based on a complaint filed by the victim’s wife.

Investigators are examining whether the factory followed mandatory industrial safety measures and whether negligence contributed to the fatal accident. Inspector Sudhakar stated that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Suresh Babu is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters and a son. His sudden death has left the family without its primary breadwinner, while relatives and colleagues continue to mourn the heartbreaking loss.
