Divi’s and Aurobindo Pharma Extend CSR Support to Telangana School Breakfast Scheme

Divi’s Laboratories and Aurobindo Pharma have contributed more than Rs 22 crore under their CSR initiatives to strengthen Telangana’s government school breakfast programme for students across the state.

Telangana’s government school breakfast programme has received a significant financial boost after Divi’s Laboratories and Aurobindo Pharma together contributed more than Rs 22 crore through their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The funding is expected to strengthen the implementation of the student nutrition programme across the state.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy received the CSR contributions during a meeting in Hyderabad attended by representatives of both pharmaceutical companies and the Hare Krishna Charitable Foundation, which is associated with the implementation of the breakfast initiative.

As part of the contribution, Divi’s Laboratories donated Rs 12.18 crore, while Aurobindo Pharma contributed Rs 10 crore. The financial assistance was handed over to the Hare Krishna Charitable Foundation to support the continued operation of the breakfast programme in government schools.

Appreciating the foundation’s work, the Chief Minister said its community kitchens have been playing an important role in supplying nutritious breakfasts and midday meals to students in different parts of Telangana. He noted that the programme has helped improve access to quality meals for children studying in government educational institutions.

Revanth Reddy also said the government is working on plans to connect these centralised kitchens with nearby farming communities. The proposal aims to procure vegetables, rice and other agricultural produce directly from local farmers, creating better market opportunities while ensuring fresh ingredients for school meals.

The Chief Minister further stated that the state is encouraging farmers to adopt organic cultivation and diversify crops by providing quality seeds free of cost. He also thanked both companies for supporting the welfare of students through their CSR initiatives.
