BTech Student Arrested in Ibrahimpatnam Assault Case

Police arrested a BTech student in Ibrahimpatnam after a classmate accused him of sexual assault following an outing where she was allegedly forced to consume alcohol.

A disturbing incident reported from Ibrahimpatnam in Hyderabad has triggered concern after a BTech student was arrested for allegedly assaulting his classmate. Police said the accused reportedly gained the trust of the victim before committing the crime.

According to investigators, the accused identified as Udutala Vijay is a third year BTech student from Choutuppal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. He was studying at a private engineering college in Ibrahimpatnam where he became acquainted with the victim, who was his classmate.

Police said the incident took place on the night of May fourteenth when Vijay allegedly invited the young woman out for tea. Believing him to be a trusted friend and classmate, she agreed to accompany him in his car.

Officials stated that the accused first took her toward the Dilsukhnagar area and later purchased alcohol while returning toward Ibrahimpatnam. During the journey, he allegedly drove the vehicle to an isolated stretch near BDS Road on the outskirts of Ibrahimpatnam.

Investigators revealed that the victim was allegedly forced to consume alcohol and eventually lost consciousness. Police said the accused then took her to his room where the assault reportedly took place during the night.

The victim reportedly realized what had happened only the following morning after regaining consciousness. Deeply disturbed by the incident, she later approached her family members and decided to file a complaint with Ibrahimpatnam Police Station on May seventeenth.

Based on her complaint, police registered a case under serious sections and immediately began an investigation. Authorities confirmed that the accused was arrested on Monday following preliminary inquiry and evidence collection.

Police later produced the accused before a court and shifted him to judicial remand. Officials said the investigation is continuing and further evidence is being examined as part of the case.
