The Telangana government is introducing a free life insurance scheme offering financial security to employees pensioners and their families with coverage reaching up to Rs 1.20 crore.

Telangana Free Insurance Scheme: In a major welfare initiative, the Telangana government has announced a comprehensive free life insurance scheme for state employees and retired pensioners. The programme is designed to provide long term financial protection to families and strengthen social security for thousands of beneficiaries across the state.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to formally launch the scheme at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad. The announcement has generated a positive response among employees, teachers and pensioners, many of whom see the initiative as an important support system for their families.
Under the new policy, every eligible employee and pensioner will receive life insurance coverage of up to Rs 1.20 crore at no cost. The benefits will be available in cases of natural death as well as accidental death, ensuring that affected families receive financial assistance during difficult circumstances.
Officials said the scheme has been carefully structured to offer immediate economic support to beneficiaries’ families and help them maintain financial stability after the loss of a family member. The government believes the programme will reduce uncertainty and provide a stronger safety net for households.
To ensure smooth implementation, the state has already entered into agreements with leading national banks and insurance companies. These partnerships are expected to streamline claim settlements and make the benefits easily accessible to eligible beneficiaries.
Senior officials stated that the initiative is also a recognition of the services rendered by government employees and pensioners over the years. By extending financial protection to their families, the government aims to provide lasting support and peace of mind while reinforcing its commitment to employee welfare.
