Uppal Skywalk Lift Incident: Young Man Trapped Inside Uppal Skywalk Lift for Over Two Hours
Uppal Skywalk Lift Incident: A young employee experienced a terrifying ordeal after getting stuck inside an Uppal Skywalk lift, with rescue teams taking more than two hours to safely bring him out.

Uppal Skywalk Lift Incident: A routine journey back to his hostel turned into a frightening experience for a 20 year old man after he became trapped inside a lift at the Uppal Skywalk. The incident triggered a lengthy rescue operation involving multiple emergency agencies.
Rahul, who works for a private company and stays at a boys hostel in Uppal, was returning after completing his work shift when the lift he was using suddenly stopped midway. Unable to exit, he remained trapped inside the elevator and reportedly suffered severe anxiety as the minutes passed.
After receiving information about the incident, rescue personnel from HYDRAA, Uppal police, and fire services rushed to the location. Teams worked continuously to open the lift doors and reach the stranded passenger.
Officials faced difficulties accessing the lift, resulting in a prolonged rescue effort. It reportedly took more than two hours for emergency responders and technical staff to restore access and safely evacuate Rahul from the elevator.
A technician eventually managed to resolve the issue and bring the young man out without injuries during the late night hours. The successful rescue brought relief to family members and local residents who had been closely following the situation.
Questions have since been raised about the delay in rescue operations. Allegations emerged that the response from maintenance personnel responsible for the lift and concerned authorities was not immediate, which may have contributed to the extended wait faced by the trapped passenger.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding the maintenance and emergency response systems of public infrastructure facilities, with many calling for stricter monitoring to prevent similar situations in the future.
