Hyderabad Voter List Revision Leaves Nearly One Million Names Under Verification

The special revision of the electoral rolls in Hyderabad is continuing at a rapid pace, but a significant portion of the verification process is yet to be completed. Election officials said digitisation of enumeration forms remains unfinished, with more than forty percent of the work still pending across the district.

Out of 47.36 lakh registered voters, details of 27.26 lakh electors, accounting for 57.56 percent, have been digitised so far. Officials stated that a considerable number of forms are yet to be collected, slowing the overall progress of the revision exercise.

As part of the verification process, 9.95 lakh voters have been placed in the Absent Shifted Dead category. The list includes individuals who were reportedly unavailable during verification, shifted to different locations, deceased or could not be contacted by election officials. Their records will undergo further scrutiny before a final decision is taken.

Election authorities said only voters who complete the required verification and submit their details within the prescribed timeline will be retained in the draft electoral roll. Names lacking the necessary verification may be excluded, subject to the rules governing the revision process.

Among Assembly constituencies, Bahadurpura recorded the highest digitisation progress at 63.35 percent, followed by Karwan with 62.01 percent and Secunderabad with 60.41 percent. The lowest progress was reported in Sanath Nagar at 53.52 percent, Malakpet at 53.90 percent and Musheerabad at 54.01 percent.

Officials also reported a strong response through the online system. Around 4.91 lakh applications were submitted digitally, of which 4.89 lakh have already been verified by Booth Level Officers. District Election Officer RV Karnan said verification and digitisation work will continue until the revision process is completed.
