Heavy Rain Disrupts Traffic Across Several Parts of Hyderabad

Heavy rainfall lashed several areas of Hyderabad causing traffic congestion waterlogging and slow moving vehicles while emergency teams worked to clear flooded roads and restore normal movement.

Heavy rainfall affected several parts of Hyderabad on Sunday, leading to widespread traffic congestion and waterlogging across key roads. Commuters experienced delays as continuous showers slowed vehicle movement during peak hours.

Areas including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Panjagutta, Ameerpet, Borabanda, Yousufguda, Musheerabad, Chikkadpally, RTC Cross Roads, Domalguda and Kavadiguda witnessed intense rainfall. The downpour reduced visibility and created difficult driving conditions in many parts of the city.

Water accumulated on several roads, forcing motorists to move cautiously through inundated stretches. Traffic movement was severely affected at multiple junctions, with long queues of vehicles reported in several busy localities.

Emergency response teams from HYDRAA and the Monsoon Emergency Teams were deployed to waterlogged areas soon after the rainfall intensified. Officials began clearing stagnant water and monitoring vulnerable locations to minimize inconvenience for residents and commuters.

Authorities have advised motorists to drive carefully and avoid flooded stretches wherever possible. Civic agencies continue to monitor weather conditions and remain on alert to respond quickly if rainfall intensifies further.
