Telangana Rains Likely to Continue for Another Week

Telangana may continue to receive light to moderate rainfall for another week, while several districts face the possibility of heavy showers during the next 24 hours, weather officials said.

Hyderabad: The spell of rain over Telangana is unlikely to ease soon. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate showers across the state for the next week, with some areas likely to receive heavier rainfall.

The weather department has issued alerts for the next 24 hours, particularly for districts where heavy to very heavy rain is possible. Residents in these areas have been advised to remain cautious as rainfall could be intense at times.

Mulugu, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Adilabad and Kumuram Bheem Asifabad are among the districts that could see moderate to heavy rainfall.

Parts of Nirmal, Jagtial and Nizamabad may also receive heavy showers. Moderate rainfall is possible in isolated areas of Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, Sangareddy, Medak and Siddipet.

Hyderabad is also expected to receive moderate rain in some areas. The changing weather could bring brief spells of intense rain, particularly during the coming 24 hours.

The continued rainfall has also prompted a health advisory from the state public health department. Officials have warned that lower temperatures and higher humidity can create conditions favourable for seasonal illnesses.

People have been advised to take precautions against diseases spread by mosquitoes, contaminated water and respiratory infections. Keeping surroundings free of stagnant water is particularly important because accumulated water can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Health officials have also advised residents to use mosquito nets and take care when storing water. Drinking boiled and cooled water is recommended, especially in areas where heavy rain could affect local water sources.

People experiencing flu like symptoms have been asked not to ignore them. Officials advised residents to consult a doctor if symptoms continue or become worse instead of delaying medical attention.

The weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled across Telangana over the coming days. With rainfall forecast to continue for about a week, residents in vulnerable areas should keep track of local weather updates and follow instructions issued by authorities.

The immediate focus remains on districts facing the possibility of heavier rain, while Hyderabad and several other parts of the state may continue to receive moderate showers.
