Teenager Killed in Chhattisgarh Park After Dispute With Boyfriend
A 19 year old woman was fatally stabbed in a public park in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur district following a heated argument, with police arresting the accused within hours of the incident.

A shocking crime unfolded in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday evening when a young woman was allegedly attacked inside a public park, leading to her death. The accused, who was known to the victim, was taken into police custody after an overnight search operation that ended within a few hours of the incident.
The deceased has been identified as 19 year old Radhika Rajwade, while the arrested accused is 23 year old Ritesh Rajwade. Investigators said the two had met at Nehru Park during the evening. What initially appeared to be a private conversation reportedly escalated into a serious dispute.
Police believe the argument stemmed from the accused’s suspicion that the victim was communicating with another individual. As tensions rose, the situation allegedly turned violent. Authorities said the accused attacked the woman with a knife before leaving the park on a motorcycle.
People present nearby immediately alerted emergency services and helped shift the injured woman to the District Hospital. Doctors later referred her to Ambikapur Medical College for specialized treatment because of the severity of her injuries. Despite medical efforts, she died before reaching the higher medical facility.
Following the incident, senior officers visited the location and began a detailed investigation. Teams collected physical evidence, examined the crime scene, and reviewed surveillance footage from cameras installed around the park and nearby roads to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Police simultaneously launched a large scale search across surrounding areas. Acting on intelligence inputs, officers surrounded a forest near the Pidha area, where the accused was located and arrested. Officials confirmed that the operation concluded without any further confrontation.
During initial questioning, investigators said the accused admitted that personal suspicion had led to the fatal attack. Police, however, stated that every aspect of the case is being independently verified and the investigation will rely on forensic findings, witness statements, and other evidence collected during the inquiry.
A criminal case has been registered, and investigators are continuing legal proceedings to determine the complete circumstances that resulted in the woman’s death.
