Rahul Gandhi Praises Student Unity Calls for Action Beyond Minister’s Resignation

Rahul Gandhi said the resignation of the Union Education Minister is only the beginning and urged the government to address students' demands ensure accountability for violence and protect democratic values.

Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing it as an important step toward restoring the country’s education system. In a message shared on social media, he praised students and young people who took to the streets to defend democracy, the Constitution, and their future. He said their unity and determination had made the nation proud.

However, Rahul Gandhi stressed that the minister’s resignation alone does not resolve the concerns raised by students. He said two key demands remain unanswered and called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to issue an apology to students while respecting their aspirations and the future of the country.

He also demanded strict action against those responsible for the alleged violence and police action against protesting students. According to Rahul Gandhi, everyone accountable for the incidents should face legal consequences, and justice must be ensured without delay.

Calling for a broader democratic movement, Rahul Gandhi urged farmers, workers, poor communities, and other sections of society who have faced hardships under the present government to stand together and protect their self respect through constitutional means. He said people should not fear suppression and emphasized that courage and unity are the greatest strengths of any peaceful protest. He added that the time has come for change and encouraged citizens to remain fearless.
