Modi Announces New Bill to Curb Exam Paper Leaks and Strengthen Law

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the Centre is preparing tougher legal measures to combat examination paper leaks, stating that a new bill will be taken up by the Union Cabinet before being introduced in Parliament.

In a special video message released late at night, the Prime Minister assured students that the government considers examination integrity a national priority. He said the proposed legislation is intended to strengthen action against those involved in leaking question papers and manipulating recruitment or entrance examinations.

Modi noted that authorities have already arrested several accused persons in connection with recent paper leak cases. He added that the government acted quickly to conduct fresh examinations so that students would not lose an academic year because of the irregularities.

According to the Prime Minister, the impact of paper leaks extends beyond examinations, affecting the confidence of lakhs of students and their families. He said the government has introduced multiple corrective measures over the past few months and is preparing additional reforms.

The Prime Minister also revealed that he has directed officials to establish fast track courts for speedy disposal of paper leak cases. He expressed confidence that stronger legal provisions and quicker judicial processes would help discourage such offences in the future.

The proposed bill is expected to be discussed at the Cabinet meeting before being placed before Parliament for approval. The government believes the legislation will reinforce transparency, accountability and fairness in the country’s examination system.
