Government Removed One Official to Shield the Prime Minister Says Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh Yadav accused the government of protecting the Prime Minister by removing one official while ignoring deeper issues and praised protesting students for forcing authorities to respond through united public pressure.

The debate over the alleged examination paper leak case sparked sharp political exchanges in the Lok Sabha, with Samajwadi Party president and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav launching a strong attack on the central government. Speaking during the discussion on the proposed amendments to the law aimed at preventing examination paper leaks, he accused the ruling administration of trying to escape responsibility.

Akhilesh Yadav remarked that the government had removed one official with the surname Pradhan while ultimately protecting the Prime Minister. Using the similarity between the words Pradhan and Pradhan Mantri, he delivered a political jibe, claiming that the move was intended to divert attention from larger concerns instead of addressing the root of the issue.

He also praised the determination shown by young people across the country. According to him, students demonstrated remarkable unity and resilience, forcing the government to acknowledge public anger. He said the protests proved that even a government considered politically powerful could be compelled to respond when citizens stood together with a common purpose.

The Samajwadi Party leader argued that the growing dissatisfaction among students was not limited to a single examination controversy. He claimed that frustration had been building for years due to repeated concerns surrounding recruitment processes, examinations, and the education system.

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party, Akhilesh alleged that since coming to power, the government has attempted to impose a single ideology across educational institutions, universities, and examination systems. He claimed that such an approach had weakened the independence and credibility of educational institutions while increasing anxiety among students.

He further said the nationwide protests reflected the depth of public dissatisfaction, especially among the youth. According to Akhilesh, the widespread demonstrations showed that collective action could influence government decisions and bring accountability to those in power.

During his address, he urged the government to change its approach toward education and student welfare. He stressed that restoring confidence in examinations and educational institutions should become a priority, as young people expect transparency, fairness, and equal opportunities.

The discussion in Parliament came as lawmakers debated stronger legal measures to prevent examination paper leaks and improve the integrity of competitive examinations. While the government defended its legislative efforts, opposition leaders maintained that stricter laws alone would not solve the problem without broader reforms and greater accountability.

Akhilesh concluded by saying that the voice of the youth should not be ignored, emphasizing that lasting solutions would require policy changes that protect students, strengthen educational institutions, and ensure fair examination practices across the country.
