Andhra Pradesh Reports New Covid Case as Government Steps Up Vigil
A fresh Covid case involving a traveler from London has increased active infections in Andhra Pradesh, prompting health authorities to strengthen surveillance, isolation measures and public safety precautions across the state.
Health authorities in Andhra Pradesh have reported another Covid case, leading to renewed vigilance across the state. A 21 year old man who recently returned from London tested positive for the virus in Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district. Following the diagnosis, officials intensified precautionary measures to prevent further spread.
The patient has been admitted to the isolation ward at the Government General Hospital in Rajamahendravaram, where he is receiving medical treatment. Health teams have started contact tracing and identified people who were in close contact with him. Those identified are being placed under quarantine while surveillance has been increased in surrounding areas.
With the latest infection, the number of active Covid cases in Andhra Pradesh has reached 16. According to health officials, five patients are in critical condition and are being monitored by specialist medical teams. Four others with mild symptoms are recovering under home isolation with regular supervision from healthcare workers.
Authorities also stated that three patients have recovered completely and have been discharged from hospitals. However, four Covid related deaths reported in the state have raised concern among health officials, who continue to monitor the situation closely.
In response to the increase in cases, the Andhra Pradesh government has reinforced preventive measures across the state. Officials have urged residents to follow public health guidelines, including wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and avoiding unnecessary travel. Citizens have also been advised to remain cautious and cooperate with health authorities to help reduce the risk of further infections.
