Rakul Preet IT Search: The Income Tax Department on Monday carried out searches at 12 locations in Mumbai linked to actor Rakul Preet Singh, filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios. Officials are examining financial documents and transactions as part of an ongoing probe into suspected irregularities connected with film projects.

Multiple teams from the Mumbai Income Tax Department are involved in the operation. According to reports, investigators are looking into allegations that funds may have been routed overseas in connection with film financing and related activities. The exact nature of the transactions has not yet been made public.

Premises associated with Rakul Preet Singh and her father in law, producer Vashu Bhagnani, are among those being searched. Offices connected with Panorama Studios are also under scrutiny as officials go through financial records and details of overseas transactions.

The investigation is still in its early stages, and no official findings confirming tax evasion or money laundering have been announced. An Income Tax search itself does not establish that the people or companies involved have committed a financial offence.

Rakul Preet Singh is married to actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani, the son of Vashu Bhagnani. The couple got married in 2024. Vashu Bhagnani has been associated with the film production business for several years, while Jackky has also been involved in the family’s entertainment ventures.

The searches have also brought attention to the financial side of film production. Investigators are reportedly checking whether payments connected with shooting, production or other film activities involved transactions outside India and whether those dealings were properly reported.

Panorama Studios, which is also linked to the current searches, has been involved in several Hindi film projects, including the Drishyam franchise. The production company is headed by filmmaker Kumar Mangat Pathak. Reports said its premises were among the locations covered by the Income Tax operation.

For now, officials are focused on collecting and examining documents rather than announcing any final conclusions. The department is expected to assess the records obtained during the searches before deciding on further action.
