Revanth Reddy Oxford Visit: Revanth Reddy Invites Oxford University to Support Telangana Education

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy invited Oxford University to partner with the state on education, research and global opportunities for students and working professionals.

Revanth Reddy Oxford Visit: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has invited the University of Oxford to collaborate with the state on education, research and skill development. The proposal was discussed during his visit to the historic university in London as part of the Telangana Rising delegation.

The discussions focused on creating better opportunities for Telangana students and working professionals through international education and research partnerships. Revanth Reddy explained the state government’s plans to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a global education hub and encouraged Oxford representatives to expand their activities in the city.

During the visit, the Chief Minister met Professor Maya Tudor of the Blavatnik School of Government and Professor Faisal Devji of Balliol College. He outlined the Telangana Rising vision and spoke about the opportunities available for leading international institutions to work with the state.

Revanth Reddy particularly invited Oxford University to bring its executive education programmes and research capabilities to Hyderabad. He also suggested establishing a centre in the city that could provide global-level learning and research opportunities to students, professionals and young people from Telangana.

CMO adviser and Ex Officio Special Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao also participated in the meeting. He presented details about the opportunities available to foreign universities under India’s National Education Policy and explained the advantages of establishing international university programmes in Telangana.

Oxford representatives responded positively to the proposal and expressed interest in working with Telangana’s youth and professionals. The state delegation also invited the university to send representatives to the Telangana Rising Global Summit scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from December 7 to 9.

Revanth Reddy later visited Somerville College, where former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had studied. During the visit, he viewed her portrait, which was gifted to the college by Sonia Gandhi in 2002.

The Chief Minister also visited the Utilita Bowl operated by the GMR Group. Along with GMR Group Corporate Chairman Kiran Kumar Grandhi, he reviewed the sports facilities, including the golf course, sporting infrastructure and hotel facilities.

Discussions with GMR representatives and the company’s global sports unit also covered the development of world class sports infrastructure in Telangana. Revanth Reddy invited the group to explore investment opportunities and participate in building major sporting facilities in the state.

Later in the evening, the Chief Minister visited Emirates Stadium to watch the EPL match between Arsenal and Coventry.
