Revanth Reddy Calls for Education Reforms and Assures Full Support to Teachers

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening the education system, assuring teachers that funding and administrative support will not stand in the way of meaningful reforms. Addressing educators in Hyderabad, he encouraged them to actively shape policies that improve learning outcomes across the state.

Speaking at an interaction with teachers who recently visited Finland and Germany to study modern education practices, the Chief Minister said Telangana should move beyond simply observing successful international models and instead adapt them to suit local needs. He stressed that quality education is the most powerful tool for reducing inequality and preparing students for a competitive global future.

Revanth Reddy called on teachers to play a greater role in policymaking by identifying the needs of schools at the grassroots level. He said development plans should begin with suggestions from educators rather than being driven solely through top down administrative decisions. Officials, he added, would work on implementing practical recommendations submitted by teachers.

Highlighting the importance of broader learning, the Chief Minister said students should not be limited to language skills alone. Instead, schools must equip children with knowledge, critical thinking and global awareness before they complete their higher secondary education. He also stressed the need to rebuild public confidence in government schools and colleges by ensuring they provide quality education and better career opportunities.

Sharing his own journey, Revanth Reddy recalled studying in a government school and said his background had strengthened his belief in public education. He noted that government institutions have the potential to produce capable leaders and professionals when they receive the right support and resources.

The Chief Minister also assured teachers that their concerns would receive regular attention, promising meetings every six months to discuss challenges and progress. Responding to criticism from opposition leaders, he defended the government’s education initiatives and questioned calls for his resignation, stating that efforts to improve student welfare and educational infrastructure should be encouraged rather than opposed.
