Gold Prices Rise in India: Gold Prices Rise in India on August 19

Gold prices moved higher in the domestic market on August 19, while international rates slipped after recent gains, offering mixed signals to buyers and investors.

Gold Prices Rise in India: Gold prices showed a mixed trend on Wednesday, August 19. While international markets witnessed a decline, domestic rates in India moved slightly higher during the morning session.

The 22 carat gold price increased by Rs 200 to Rs 1,42,900 per 10 grams. The price of 24 carat gold also climbed by Rs 230, reaching Rs 1,55,890 per 10 grams. Silver, meanwhile, remained unchanged at around Rs 2.55 lakh.

The movement comes after gold had recorded gains in recent sessions. Demand during the festival and wedding season has supported the domestic market, while changing expectations around US interest rates have continued to influence global bullion prices.

In the international market, spot gold slipped below the 4,350 dollar mark after briefly trading above 4,400 dollars in the previous session. Silver also declined, falling from around 66 dollars to nearly 63 dollars.

Higher demand for US Treasury bonds and rising yields have encouraged some investors to book profits in precious metals. This has put pressure on gold and silver prices overseas.

Gold continues to hold a strong place in Indian households, where it is bought not only for weddings and festivals but also as a long term investment. Silver has also attracted greater investor interest in recent years following its strong price performance.

However, bullion prices can change several times during the day depending on international market movements, currency fluctuations and local demand. Therefore, buyers planning a purchase should check the latest rate before making a transaction.

The domestic prices mentioned above were recorded around 7:30 am on August 19. Further changes were possible later in the morning as international market movements were reflected in Indian prices.
