Ride1Up has expanded its electric bike lineup with the Portola 02, a folding model designed for riders who want useful range without giving up portability. The new e bike replaces the earlier Portola and brings several practical upgrades.

The biggest highlight is its claimed range of up to 96 kilometres on a single charge. Buyers can choose between a 10Ah battery, rated for up to 72 kilometres, and a larger 15Ah battery that can deliver up to 96 kilometres according to the company.

The Portola 02 is available in two battery configurations. The 10Ah version is priced at 995 dollars, which is roughly 95,000 rupees, while the 15Ah model costs 1,095 dollars, or approximately 1.05 lakh rupees.

The folding electric bike is offered in Bronze, Dark Slate, Cloud White and Azure Blue colour options. It is sold through the official Ride1Up online store.

Motor and Performance

Power comes from a 750W AKM hub motor that produces up to 90Nm of torque. The bike has a claimed top speed of 45kmph with pedal assistance, giving it enough output for both daily commuting and longer rides.

The aluminium folding frame is designed to make storage and transportation easier. At 27.6kg, however, it is not an ultra light electric bike, so carrying it for longer distances may still require some effort.

Features and Equipment

Ride1Up has equipped the Portola 02 with 20 inch by 3 inch puncture resistant tyres and dual piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors. These components are aimed at providing better control and braking performance during regular riding.

A 3.5 inch colour display sits on the handlebar and provides information such as speed, battery level, estimated range, riding class and selected mode. The company has also upgraded the battery management system for the new model.

The bike gets a built in Find My tracking feature, which can help owners locate it when needed. A 100 lux LED headlight is fitted at the front, while a brake light adds visibility from behind.
