Rahul Gandhi on Sonia’s Memoir: Rahul Gandhi Shares Emotional Note on Sonia Gandhi’s Life Story
Rahul Gandhi has reflected on Sonia Gandhi’s life, recalling her strength after Rajiv Gandhi’s death and expressing pride that her personal journey will soon reach millions through her memoir.

Rahul Gandhi on Sonia’s Memoir: Rahul Gandhi has shared an emotional message about his mother, Sonia Gandhi, as her memoir Belonging: A Journey of Love prepares for publication. He reflected on the difficult years she faced after the death of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the strength she showed during that period.
In his post marking Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Rahul recalled that he last saw his parents together around 35 years ago. He said that he and his sister Priyanka Gandhi understand better than most what their mother went through after Rajiv Gandhi’s death.
According to Rahul, Sonia Gandhi faced every challenge that followed with courage and dignity. He also said he feels proud that she has decided to share her life story with readers, especially because she has traditionally kept her personal life away from the public spotlight.
The upcoming book is expected to offer a detailed account of Sonia Gandhi’s journey, from her childhood in Italy to her move to India and her relationship with Rajiv Gandhi. It will also explore her experiences within one of India’s most prominent political families.
The memoir will reportedly touch upon her relationship with Rajiv Gandhi, their marriage, family life and the personal tragedies that changed her life. The deaths of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi are also expected to form an important part of the narrative.
Rahul became particularly emotional while referring to his father. He said that if Rajiv Gandhi were alive today, he would be proud of Sonia Gandhi and the way she handled the difficult chapters of her life.
Belonging: A Journey of Love is scheduled to be released on November 10. Publisher Alfred A Knopf has announced the book, which is expected to give readers a closer look at Sonia Gandhi’s personal journey and her long association with India.
Sonia Gandhi was born in Italy and met Rajiv Gandhi while she was studying in England. Their relationship eventually led to marriage in February 1968, after which her life became closely connected with India and the Nehru Gandhi family.
The memoir has already attracted attention because Sonia Gandhi has rarely spoken publicly at length about several deeply personal chapters of her life. Her decision to tell that story herself is expected to make the book significant for both political observers and general readers.
