Pova has added a new 5G smartphone to the Indian market with the launch of the Pova 8 Pro 5G. The phone combines a large display, a MediaTek chipset and a sizeable battery, while also offering up to 512GB of internal storage.

The smartphone features a 6.78 inch HyperLux AMOLED panel with a 2644 by 1208 pixel resolution. Its 144Hz refresh rate is designed to make scrolling and supported games feel smoother, while peak brightness is rated at up to 4500 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Powering the device is the octa core MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chipset, paired with an Arm Mali G615 MC2 GPU. Buyers can choose between 8GB and 12GB RAM configurations, with storage options of 256GB and 512GB.

On the software side, the Pova 8 Pro 5G runs Android 16 with HiOS 16. The combination gives the phone a newer software platform while leaving plenty of room for apps, games, photographs and other files.

According to the supplied launch details, its listed price is Rs 49,999, with sales scheduled to begin on August 21 through Flipkart and retail outlets. Eligible customers can receive an instant bank cashback of Rs 3,000, bringing the effective price to Rs 46,999. An 18 month no cost EMI option is also available.
